Nearly two years ago, my 5-year-old daughter Alessia suggested I make a film about Pet Fashion Designer Anthony Rubio after attending one of his NY Fashion Week shows. With her encouragement, I embarked on a project to share a heartwarming story suitable for the whole family, showcasing an inspiring artist who expresses his love for animals through fashion design. Yesterday, we filmed the opening scene of the movie at Tig & Peach in Pelham, NY. @tigandpeach 💕🍑 Anthony and Kimba visited a group of enthusiastic children, eager to hear about Anthony’s journey and meet Kimba, who was ready for the runway. The experience was both magical and educational. Anthony even read a story from Linda Butler-White’s children’s book “Lala and Darla, Supermodel Dogs: Pups with Pizzazz”, in which he makes a cameo appearance. @bogieandkimba @darlaandlalapom 🐾 As a special treat, each child received a signed copy of Anthony’s new coffee table book featuring beautiful photos of his famous canine models. 🌟✨  The Power of The Pet Gala, Unleashed! ✨🌟 We’re thrilled to share the global fanfare our latest project, The Pet Gala Documentary, has received! Just two weeks after the star-studded Met Gala, our glamorous dog models trotted down the red carpet in Met Gala-inspired outfits for an epic charity event at the AKC Museum of the Dog in NYC that bridged the worlds of fashion and pet advocacy.  We were there to capture it all for a feature-length documentary. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Kevin Lopez and beautifully shot by Oscar shortlisted cinematographer Derek Mindler, the film goes behind the scenes of pet couturier Anthony Rubio’s love of animals and high-style creations for his four-legged clients. The positive press is STILL buzzing worldwide—proof that there’s a huge audience eager for stories that highlight the good in the world. Thank you to all who’ve believed in this filmmaking journey. 🎬🐾 THAT’S A WRAP!! ⭐️ A heartfelt thank you to Anthony and Rob for allowing me and my team the incredible opportunity to film Anthony’s journey over the past year. Our adventure culminated in yesterday’s historic event at The AKC Museum of the Dog—the very first Canine Couture: Exhibition Opening Reception. Following the phenomenal success of the 2024 Pet Gala, we captured the beautiful gallery opening for our documentary, “Canine Couture: An Exhibition of Anthony Rubio Designs.” It was an honor to explore this retrospective alongside the designer himself, marking the beginning of this delightful pop-up exhibition. We caught up with Anthony before doors opened where he walked us through some of the gorgeous designs that were in display. A special shout-out to our fantastic pet moms and their glamorous dog models who truly dressed to impress, echoing the stunning designs on display.
